Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Booking & Payments

How do I reserve a trek?

Choose your trek page and click Reserve Your Place. You can pay a deposit to secure your place, or pay in full if you prefer.

How much is the deposit?

A USD 300 deposit secures your place and is deducted from the final trek cost.

When do I pay the remaining balance?

After your dates and logistics are confirmed. We’ll provide clear balance instructions and timing once the final plan is agreed.

Is the deposit refundable?

If we cannot confirm your trek for your preferred dates, your deposit is refundable.
If you cancel after confirmation, refund or transfer options depend on timing and committed logistics.

Can I pay in full instead of paying a deposit?

Yes. The checkout allows you to reserve with a deposit or pay in full.

What payment methods do you accept?

Payment methods vary by location and may include card payments and digital wallets (such as Google Pay). Available options will display at checkout.

Pricing & What’s Included

Why is there a price range on some treks?

Final pricing can vary due to group type (shared vs private), Kathmandu accommodation preferences, and seasonal logistics (including flight availability). We confirm the final total clearly once your dates and setup are known.

What’s included in the base trek price?

Each trek page includes a full Included / Not Included section. In general, base pricing usually covers permits, guide support, teahouse accommodation during the trek, and core on-trail logistics.

What’s typically not included?

International flights, Nepal visa fees, insurance, personal gear, and common teahouse extras such as hot showers, Wi-Fi, charging fees, snacks, and drinks.

Fitness, Experience & Suitability

Do I need trekking experience?

Not usually. You do need solid base fitness and realistic expectations for walking multiple days in a row, often at altitude.

How fit do I need to be?

You should be comfortable walking for several hours a day on consecutive days. We can advise honestly based on your background and the trek you’re considering.

Can beginners do Everest Base Camp?

Many first-time trekkers complete EBC successfully with sensible pacing and acclimatisation. The key is fitness, patience, and respecting altitude.

Is this trek suitable if I want a “luxury” experience?

Our treks are designed to be safe, well-run, and comfortable within realistic Himalayan conditions. Teahouse trekking is not luxury travel, though upgrades can be added where appropriate.

Altitude, Safety & Acclimatisation

What is acclimatisation and why does it matter?

Acclimatisation is your body adapting to reduced oxygen at altitude. It’s a major factor in safe trekking, and it’s why we do not sell rushed itineraries.

Do you include acclimatisation days?

Yes. Acclimatisation is treated as part of the plan, not an optional extra.

What happens if someone in the group struggles with altitude?

Guides have authority to slow down, add rest, or stop if necessary. Safety comes first. We aim to complete the trek well, not to force a schedule.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes — you should have insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency evacuation. We strongly recommend arranging this before arrival.

Itineraries & Logistics

Are your itineraries fixed?

We provide a typical outline, then confirm a final day-by-day plan once dates, group type, and logistics are known. Adjustments may occur due to weather, trail conditions, and acclimatisation needs.

What about Lukla flights?

Flights can be delayed or rescheduled due to mountain weather. We plan sensibly and adjust on the ground where needed.

Where do treks start and finish?

This varies by route. Each trek page lists the start/finish and how Kathmandu fits into the plan.

Can I customise the trek?

Within sensible limits, yes — pacing and comfort can often be adjusted. We do not compress itineraries in ways that reduce acclimatisation and safety.

Accommodation & Food

What is teahouse accommodation like?

Teahouses are basic mountain lodges. You’ll typically have a simple private room, with shared bathrooms in many locations. Comfort varies by altitude and region.

Are meals included?

This depends on the trek setup described on the trek page. Where meals are included, it usually means breakfast, lunch, and dinner on trekking days.

Can you cater to dietary requirements?

Often yes, within what the region can realistically provide. Let us know early and we’ll advise what’s feasible.

Group Types & Support

Do you offer shared group and private treks?

Yes. Shared group treks are priced per person. Private treks are priced based on group size and dates.

Will I have a guide?

Yes. Treks are operated locally with experienced teams. Exact guide/support arrangements depend on route and group type.
